Toni Albons has been active in the world of fashion for 38 years and now he is coming back to his hometown Santanyí where he explains us, how the work of his mother had inspired him to discover a world up to that time unknown to him. One day his mother, who had studied tailoring in Santanyí, asked him to help her finding high-class providers, since she believed him to be a person of great sensitivity and ability as a salesman. Thus in 1972 he started to accompany his mother in search of providers. Such being the case he started to take classes in fashion, windowdressing, interior design, photography and other subjects important for this sector. In 1975 he and his mother founded the Boutique SYI,whose lettersaremadeupofSantanyi,because his mother felt connected to her native town in a very special manner. Toni primarily took care of the customer service, the selection of providers, attaching them in exclusivity to Mallorca, and the dressing of the display windows. The boutique was a great success and remained open until 1998. Which criteria are the most important for you when choosing a collection? You need some kind of sixth sense of innate talent.
